Arcimoto FUV Recall 18V938: Brake System Warning Light Missing, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 18V938, reported December 31, 2018, 23 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The affected vehicles do not have a service brake warning light to alert the rider when there is a brake system malfunction, such as low brake fluid. This means a problem in the brake system could go unnoticed, and the vehicle does not meet federal motorcycle brake standards.

If the rider unknowingly operates the vehicle with a brake system problem, the risk of a crash increases. Owners should contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to schedule the free fix, which is a software update that adds the brake warning light function. Check your VIN for open recalls as well, to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
