BMW X5 Recall 18V918: Missing or Wrong Airbag Warning Label on Sun Visor

NHTSA campaign 18V918, reported December 19, 2018, 11 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some sun visors may have an incorrect airbag warning label, or no label at all. The label tells occupants how to sit safely around the airbag, so without it a person may not know the proper restraint guidelines.

Without the correct label, occupants may have a higher risk of injury if the airbag deploys in a crash. Because the labeling does not meet federal safety standards, the vehicle is included in this recall.

If you own this vehicle, contact an authorized dealer or BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. The inspection and any needed sun visor replacement are free. Check your VIN for any other open recalls.
