Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 Recall 18V911: Headlights May Be Misaligned, Reducing Night Visibility

NHTSA campaign 18V911, reported December 19, 2018, 104 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019 CLS 450 and CLS 53 AMG vehicles have a horizontal headlight adjustment screw that may not be effectively sealed. This can allow the headlights to become improperly aimed, and the vehicles do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lighting equipment.

If the headlights are not properly adjusted, the driver may have reduced visibility of the road ahead, which increases the risk of a crash.

Owners should contact Mercedes-Benz customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Authorized dealers will inspect the horizontal headlight adjustment screws and seal them as necessary, at no cost to the owner. You can also check your VIN for any other open recalls.
