Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 Recall 18V877: Bus Roof Adhesive May Weaken Roof Joint in Rollover

NHTSA campaign 18V877, reported December 10, 2018, 6,031 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain school buses have roof header adhesive that may not have been properly applied during manufacturing. This can affect the strength of the joint that holds the roof header in place.

If the bus is involved in a rollover crash, the weakened roof joint can increase the risk of injury to occupants. Owners should take this recall seriously, especially for buses that carry students.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the placement of the roof header adhesive and install mechanical fasteners where needed. Contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712, referencing recall FL-801, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
