Jayco Travel Trailer JAY Flight SLX Recall 18V851: Wheel Bearings May Overheat and Hub May Fail

NHTSA campaign 18V851, reported November 30, 2018, 149 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2019 travel trailers may have had their inner wheel hub bearings under-greased at the factory. Without enough grease, the bearings can overheat and fail, which may cause the hub to fail.

A hub failure can affect how the trailer handles and increases the risk of a crash. Owners should stop using the trailer and have it checked if they notice unusual heat, noise, or wobbling from the rear axle area.

Jayco will notify affected owners. Dealers will inspect and repair the hubs and bearings as needed, at no cost to you. Contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137 for more information, and check your trailer's VIN for open recalls.
