Audi A4 Allroad Recall 18V836: Passenger Air Bag May Not Deploy Properly in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 18V836, reported November 27, 2018, 12 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A passenger-side front air bag inflator module mounting screw may not have been tightened enough. If the screw is loose, the air bag may not deploy correctly in a crash, which can increase the risk of injury to the front passenger.

Dealers will inspect the air bag mounting screw and tighten or replace it as needed. The repair is free of charge. Owners will be notified by mail, but you can also check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls and contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834.

If you own an affected vehicle, schedule the inspection at an authorized Audi dealer as soon as possible. Until the repair is done, keep in mind that a faulty passenger air bag can make a crash more dangerous.
