Airstream Interstate Recall 18V832: Wrong Battery Fuse Can Overheat Cables and Cause Fire

NHTSA campaign 18V832, reported November 26, 2018, 31 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2019 Airstream Interstate motorhomes may have been built with 150-amp fuses on the coach battery circuit instead of the specified 100-amp fuses. This could allow the battery cables to carry more current than they are rated for.

Overloaded battery cables can overheat, which increases the risk of a fire in the vehicle.

Airstream will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will replace the 150-amp fuses with 100-amp fuses at no cost to you. For questions, contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111, extensions 7401 or 7411, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
