Forest River Berkshire Recall 18V770: Loose Brake Caliper Bolts Can Reduce Braking

NHTSA campaign 18V770, reported October 31, 2018, 182 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2018 and 2019 Forest River Berkshire recreational vehicles, StarTrans PS2 transit buses, and Glaval Legacy transit buses may have brake caliper mounting bolts that were not tightened enough during assembly. Loose bolts can reduce brake effectiveness.

Reduced braking increases the risk of a crash. If you own one of these vehicles, pay attention to any change in how the brakes feel or perform, and have the vehicle inspected promptly.

The repair is free. Forest River will notify owners, and authorized Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) service facilities will check and tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts at no charge. For questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3112, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
