Forest River Berkshire Recall 18V737: Rear lights may fail, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 18V737, reported October 19, 2018, 1,017 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM) on these motorhomes may have been damaged during manufacturing. If that happens, the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals may not work, which can increase the risk of a crash.

If you own one of these motorhomes, check your lights regularly, including brake lights, turn signals, and marker lights, and be extra cautious in traffic. The remedy is still being developed. Forest River issued an interim notice to owners on November 16, 2018, and a second notice will be mailed once remedy parts are available. The repair will be free at Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) authorized service facilities.

For questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3112 or Coachmen customer service at 1-574-825-5821, referencing recall number 51-0893. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
