Jeep Renegade Recall 18V731: Fuel pump may lose pressure and stall engine

NHTSA campaign 18V731, reported October 17, 2018, 21,104 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A manufacturing error in the fuel pump assembly can cause a loss of fuel pressure under certain conditions, such as high power demand combined with high altitude and/or high ambient temperatures. This affects certain flex fuel/E85 vehicles with a 2.4L engine.

A loss of fuel pressure can cause the engine to stall while driving, which increases the risk of a crash. Stalling without warning can be especially dangerous in traffic or at higher speeds.

The repair is free. Dealers will replace the fuel pump at no charge, and Chrysler will notify affected owners. You can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number UB2). You should also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls and schedule the repair with an authorized dealer.
