Great Dane Everest Recall 18V721: Trailer Brakes May Stop Less Effectively, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 18V721, reported October 12, 2018, 64 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019 Great Dane Everest CL reefer trailers may have been built without brake rollers. Without them, brake effectiveness is reduced, so the distance needed to stop the trailer can be longer. A longer stopping distance increases the risk of a crash.

Great Dane will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the trailer, install any missing brake rollers, and inspect the brake drum and shoes for abnormal wear. This work is free of charge. The recall began November 21, 2018. Owners with questions can contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493, and can check their VIN for open recalls.
