Bentley Bentayga Recall 18V632: Rearview Camera May Be Blocked or Delayed When Reversing

NHTSA campaign 18V632, reported September 14, 2018, 12 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2018 Bentley vehicles, the rearview camera display may be obstructed or may not be fully visible within two seconds after reverse gear is selected. The vehicles do not meet federal rearview mirror requirements under FMVSS 111.

If the full camera view is blocked or delayed and the driver does not check the area behind the vehicle before backing up, the risk of a crash increases. Drivers should use extra caution, look over their shoulder and check mirrors before reversing until the repair is done.

Bentley will notify owners, and authorized dealers will reprogram the infotainment system software at no charge. Owners can contact Bentley customer service at 1-800-777-6923 (Bentley recall number RE 18/11), and should check their VIN for open recalls.
