Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Recall 18V610: Front turn signals may show the wrong color, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 18V610, reported September 11, 2018, 4,702 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC vehicles equipped with LED headlights may have front turn signals that display a pink or violet color instead of the required amber. These lights do not meet federal lighting standards (FMVSS 108).

Turn signals in the wrong color may be harder for other drivers to recognize, which increases the risk of a crash because others may not realize you are about to turn or change lanes.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the color of the front turn signal and replace the LED module if needed. Owners will be notified by Mercedes-Benz USA, or you can contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. You can also check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
