Fccc XCM Recall 18V582: Rear Lights May Fail, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 18V582, reported August 31, 2018, 12,311 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain recreational vehicle chassis may have a rear-mounted Power Distribution Module that was damaged during manufacturing. If this happens, the rear marker lights, brake lights, or turn signals may stop working.

Nonfunctioning lights make it harder for other drivers to see when you are braking, turning, or present on the road, which can increase the risk of a crash. Watch for any dashboard warnings or lights that do not operate as expected, and check your lights regularly before driving.

If your vehicle is affected, contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 1-800-547-0712, referencing recall FL788. The remedy is still under development, so the company can advise on next steps. You can also check your VIN for open recalls at NHTSA.gov.
