Thor Motor Coach Outlaw Recall 18V572: Wiring May Lack Breaker Protection, Creating Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 18V572, reported August 29, 2018, 138 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2018 and 2019 Thor Motor Coach Outlaw motorhomes (model 29J) may have their 12V coach wiring connected directly to the battery instead of being routed through a circuit breaker. Without that breaker in the circuit, an electrical short could go unprotected.

If a short circuit occurs in an unprotected circuit, it can increase the risk of a fire. Owners should take this recall seriously and not ignore the notice.

Thor Motor Coach will notify owners, and authorized dealers will correct the wiring at no cost to you. The recall began October 9, 2018, and the company's recall number is RC000160. To learn more, contact Thor Motor Coach customer service at 1-877-855-2867, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
