Lamborghini Aventador Recall 18V461: Loose Brake Disc Bolts Could Cause Wheel to Detach

NHTSA campaign 18V461, reported July 11, 2018, 8 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Bolts that center and hold the brake discs to the wheel hub can loosen over time. If they loosen, the wheel can separate from the vehicle while it is being driven.

A wheel detaching can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should stop driving and seek a repair if they notice anything unusual with their wheels or brakes.

The remedy is free. Authorized Lamborghini dealers will replace the centering bolts with ones that have thread-locking fluid. Owners can contact Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276 and reference recall number L73XR0318. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
