Forest River Wildcat Recall 18V361: Trailer tires may fail under load, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 18V361, reported June 1, 2018, 31 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trailers were built with Load Range D tires instead of the required Load Range E tires. Tires with the lower load rating may not safely carry the trailer's weight, so using the trailer with them could cause a tire to fail while driving.

A tire failure can lead to loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Owners of affected trailers should stop relying on the underrated tires for towing and contact Forest River customer service at 1-503-831-5410, referencing recall number 22-0750.

Forest River will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the five tires and rims at no cost. You can also check your trailer's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether it is affected.
