Suzuki SX4 Recall 18V331: Transmission Module Can Fail, Cutting Speed and Acceleration

NHTSA campaign 18V331, reported May 17, 2018, 5,786 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The transmission control module in certain continuously variable transmission (CVT) vehicles may fail. When it does, the vehicle can lose speed or accelerate more slowly than expected.

A sudden reduction in speed or acceleration can increase the risk of a crash, especially when merging, passing, or driving in traffic. If your vehicle loses power unexpectedly, take care to move safely out of traffic as soon as you can.

The repair is free. Suzuki will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will replace the transmission control module at no charge. You can contact Suzuki customer service at 1-800-934-0934, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
