Chevrolet Equinox Recall 18V252: Front Door Windows May Shatter Into Large Pieces

NHTSA campaign 18V252, reported April 19, 2018, 379 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The driver and front passenger door window glass may not be properly tempered. Because of this, the vehicle does not meet federal glazing safety requirements for window glass.

If the glass is not tempered properly and a window is broken, it can break into large, sharp pieces instead of small fragments. This increases the risk of injury to occupants.

The repair is free. GM will notify owners, and an authorized Chevrolet dealer will replace the front door glass at no cost. You can contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 and reference GM recall number 18136. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
