Coachmen Spirit Recall 18V249: Outdoor Cooktop May Leak Propane and Expose You to Carbon Monoxide

NHTSA campaign 18V249, reported April 19, 2018, 68 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2018-2019 Coachmen Spirit trailers may have an outdoor cooktop installed without an LP (liquid propane) hose quick disconnect. If the cooktop is moved into the trailer while still connected to the propane supply with the LP hose in the ON position, occupants may be exposed to carbon monoxide. Escaping propane gas may also increase the risk of fire.

Forest River will notify owners. Authorized dealers will disconnect the LP supply line and relocate it with a quick disconnect LP fitting at no cost to you. Check your vehicle identification number for open recalls, and if you have questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-8205 and reference recall number 220-0691. The recall began on June 4, 2018.
