Riverside Whitewater Recall 18V246: Fire extinguishers may clog or fail in a fire

NHTSA campaign 18V246, reported April 18, 2018, 2,000 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain plastic-handle or push-button fire extinguishers in these motorhomes may become clogged, making them hard to activate or preventing them from discharging as expected. In some models, the nozzle can also detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and make the extinguisher unusable.

If the extinguisher does not work properly during a fire, the risk of injury increases. Owners should contact Riverside customer service at 1-260-499-4511 and will be instructed to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher free of charge. Check the NHTSA recall notice for the full list of affected extinguisher models, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
