Lamborghini Centenario Recall 18V244: Incorrect weight limit label can lead to overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 18V244, reported April 17, 2018, 11 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017 Lamborghini Centenario vehicles may have a certification label that lists an incorrect weight limit. The label is the sticker that tells the owner how much the vehicle can safely carry, so the vehicle could be overloaded without the driver realizing it.

An overloaded vehicle may increase the risk of suspension or tire failure, which in turn increases the risk of a crash. Because the vehicles do not meet the federal certification requirements in 49 CFR Part 567, the manufacturer has issued this recall.

Lamborghini will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected certification label free of charge. You can contact Lamborghini customer service at 1-866-681-6276 with questions. You can also check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
