Nissan Titan Recall 18V240: Missing Load Capacity Label Can Lead to Overloading

NHTSA campaign 18V240, reported April 16, 2018, 483 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some accessories installed on these trucks reduced the vehicle's load carrying capacity, but the required Load Carrying Capacity modification label was not put on the vehicle. Without that label, the truck may be loaded beyond its safe limit, and the vehicle does not fully meet federal tire selection and rim requirements (FMVSS 110).

An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. The extra weight can affect braking, handling, and tire performance, especially in emergency maneuvers.

Nissan will notify owners and provide a new modification label with installation instructions at no cost. You can contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, and you should also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
