What this recall means for you
Corrosion can develop on the rear underbody ladder rail, the structural frame member under the vehicle. This may weaken the rear floor pan and cause the left rear seat mount to become loose.
If the floor pan is weakened or the seat mount loosens, the rear seat could detach during a crash, raising the risk of injury to occupants sitting there.
The repair is free at an authorized dealer. Dealers will inspect the driver's side rear underbody ladder rail and, as needed, apply three-part rust protection to its interior and exterior. Owners can also contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number U27), and should check their VIN for open recalls.
