Spartan Gladiator Recall 18V206: Front Spindle Can Crack, Risking Wheel Separation

NHTSA campaign 18V206, reported March 29, 2018, 11 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain front axle spindles on these emergency response vehicles were inconsistently machined. Over time, fatigue cracks can develop in the spindles, which may cause a spindle to fail and a front wheel to separate from the vehicle.

A wheel separating from the vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. If you own one of these vehicles, contact Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-5008 and reference recall number 18012. Dealers will replace the front axle spindle free of charge.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether this repair is outstanding on your vehicle.
