Winnebago Intent Recall 18V196: Exterior mirrors may detach while driving, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 18V196, reported March 26, 2018, 908 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The top mounting screws for the exterior rearview mirrors may not have been installed correctly. As a result, a mirror can fall off while the vehicle is being driven.

If a mirror comes off while driving, the risk of a crash increases. Loss of a mirror also reduces your rear and side visibility.

Winnebago will notify owners, and authorized dealers will check the mirror location and, where needed, remove and reinstall the mirror in the correct position. The repair is free of charge. You can contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885, and you should check your VIN for any open recalls.
