What this recall means for you
Some Somerset E3 recreational trailers from model years 2013 through 2018 may have a missing certification label. The label should list the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), which tells owners how much weight each axle can safely carry. Without it, the trailer could be loaded beyond its safe limits without the owner realizing it, which raises the risk of a crash.
The manufacturer, Columbia Northwest, Inc., will notify owners and send a corrected certification label at no cost. Owners can contact Columbia Northwest customer service at 1-724-237-5227 for more information about the recall. The recall began on May 18, 2018.
If you own one of these trailers, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls and confirm that your certification label is present and complete. The repair is free at an authorized dealer.
