Keystone Passport Recall 18V187: Spare Tire Carrier May Detach While Towing

NHTSA campaign 18V187, reported March 22, 2018, 977 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2018 Keystone Passport recreational trailers, the spare tire carrier may not have been mounted properly to the back wall of the trailer. As a result, the spare tire and carrier can detach from the trailer.

If the spare tire and carrier come loose while the trailer is being towed, the detached parts can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and not ignore it.

Keystone will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the spare tire carrier mounting and, if necessary, install reinforcing backers at no charge. You can contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 (Keystone recall number 18-311). Check your trailer's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your unit is included.
