What this recall means for you
Certain 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB and 488 Spider vehicles have a software error that may prevent the driver from being warned when the brake discs are critically worn. Without that warning, the brake discs can become damaged while the car is still being driven.
Damaged brake discs reduce braking performance, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners may not realize the discs have reached a critical level of wear because the warning that would alert them may not appear.
Ferrari will notify owners, and authorized dealers will update the instrument panel node software at no cost. You can contact Ferrari customer service at 1-201-816-2668, and you should check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
