NHTSA campaign 18V161, reported March 8, 2018, 1,710 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The remedy is free. Authorized Kia dealers will remove the voltage protection switch and install two newly designed Battery Management Systems containing Overvoltage Protection Devices. Kia will notify owners, and the recall is expected to begin in May 2018. You can also contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 (Kia recall number SC162) and check your VIN for open recalls.
