Triple E Unity Recall 18V146: Incorrect Load Labels May Lead to Overloading and Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 18V146, reported March 5, 2018, 752 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain motorhomes from model years 2017 and 2018 may have incorrect Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity (OCCC) and tire labels. The labels can show a higher cargo capacity than the vehicle actually has, so an owner who relies on them could load the vehicle beyond its limit.

An overloaded vehicle is more likely to be involved in a crash, because added weight can affect handling, braking, and tire performance. If you own one of these motorhomes, avoid loading it above the true capacity until the labels are corrected.

The manufacturer will notify owners, and an authorized dealer will install new OCCC and tire labels at no cost. Contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906 (recall number CA#8930-1), and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
