Winnebago Revel Recall 18V132: Roof Rack Can Crack and Detach While Driving

NHTSA campaign 18V132, reported February 22, 2018, 101 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The roof luggage rack mounting brackets on these vehicles may crack, which can allow the luggage rack to come loose from the roof.

If the luggage rack detaches while the vehicle is being driven, it can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and avoid loading the roof rack heavily until the repair is completed.

The remedy is free. Winnebago will replace the mounting brackets and add an extra metal L bracket to help secure the cross members to the luggage rack rails. Contact Winnebago customer service at 1-800-537-1885, and check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
