Forest River Georgetown Recall 18V080: Wiring Can Overheat and Cause a Fire

NHTSA campaign 18V080, reported January 30, 2018, 5 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some wiring in these motorhomes uses 18-gauge wire connected to a 30-amp circuit breaker. Wire that thin cannot safely carry the current the breaker allows, so under load the wires can melt and create a fire risk.

If you own a affected vehicle, Forest River will notify you directly. Authorized dealers will connect the 18-gauge wiring to an additional circuit breaker at no cost to you. You can also contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-206-7600 and reference recall number 68-0623.
