Jayco Precept Recall 18V078: Brake fluid leak can lengthen stopping distance

NHTSA campaign 18V078, reported January 30, 2018, 17 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2017 motorhomes may be missing ball plugs in the brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU). This can cause a brake fluid leak or air to enter the system during electronic brake distribution or anti-lock braking.

A brake fluid leak or air in the system can lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.

Jayco will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the hydraulic block and replace the HECU if the ball plugs are missing, at no cost to you. For questions, contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137, and check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
