Keystone Hideout Recall 17V827: Wrong tire pressure on label can cause tire failure

NHTSA campaign 17V827, reported December 19, 2017, 12 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The Federal Placard on certain 2018 Keystone Hideout model 310 trailers lists the wrong tire size, tire pressure and axle weight rating. The label shows 65 PSI and a 5,080 lb axle rating, while the correct values are 80 PSI, a 5,200 lb axle rating and ST225/75R15E tires. Following the incorrect label could lead an owner to underinflate the tires.

Underinflated tires can fail and raise the risk of a crash. Owners should not rely on the existing placard for tire pressure or load limits until it is corrected.

Keystone will provide a corrected Federal Placard at no cost. Contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 and reference recall number 17-310. The recall began on December 27, 2017. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
