Forest River Wildwood Recall 17V790: Wrong tire size on label may cause handling crash risk

NHTSA campaign 17V790, reported December 8, 2017, 133 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The federal certification placard on these recreational trailers lists the wrong tire size. The label states ST215/75R15 Load Range D tires, but the trailers are actually equipped with ST205/75R15 Load Range D tires. Because of this, the trailers do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 (Tire Selection and Rims) or the certification requirements of 49 CFR Part 567.

If the incorrect label leads an owner to install tires of the wrong size, vehicle handling may be affected, which increases the risk of a crash.

Forest River will notify owners and provide corrected Federal Placards free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-848-1335 and reference recall number 05-0595. You can also check your vehicle identification number for open recalls.
