Bison Trail Express Recall 17V754: Fire extinguisher may fail to discharge or nozzle may detach

NHTSA campaign 17V754, reported November 22, 2017, 200 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Kidde plastic-handle or push-button 'Pindicator' fire extinguishers installed in these 2010 recreational trailers may become clogged, so the extinguisher may not discharge as expected or may require excessive force to activate. In some models, the nozzle can also detach from the valve assembly with enough force to cause injury and render the extinguisher unusable.

If a fire occurs and the extinguisher does not work properly, the risk of injury increases. Owners should contact Kidde for a free replacement fire extinguisher. Bison will also notify owners. For the full list of affected extinguisher models, see the NHTSA recall document, and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
