Grand Design Reflection Recall 17V743: Tire can rub slide-out ram, risking blowout

NHTSA campaign 17V743, reported November 21, 2017, 114 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain travel trailers may not have enough clearance between a tire and the ram that moves the slide-out room. While the trailer is being towed, the tire can contact that ram, which can damage the tire or cause a possible tire blowout.

A tire failure can increase the risk of a crash. If you own an affected trailer, contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679 or visit an authorized dealer. Dealers will install a lift kit at each axle hanger, adding two additional inches of clearance, and will replace any tires that show evidence of damage. These repairs are free of charge.

You can check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your trailer is affected and still needs this repair.
