Winnebago Journey Recall 17V736: Loose Battery Cables and Brake Lines Can Cause Fire or Brake Loss

NHTSA campaign 17V736, reported November 20, 2017, 58 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some motorhomes may have battery cables and hydraulic brake lines that are not properly secured. If these cables or lines touch the driveshaft or exhaust system, they can be damaged. A damaged battery cable can cause an electrical short that increases the risk of fire. A damaged hydraulic line can leak brake fluid, which can lead to a loss of braking ability and a higher risk of crash.

If you own a 2017 or 2018 Winnebago Grand Tour or Journey motorhome, contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535 or take your vehicle to an authorized dealer. Dealers will inspect the battery cables and hydraulic lines, reroute and secure them as needed, and replace any damaged cables or lines. All repairs are free of charge.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your motorhome is included.
