Prime Time Fury Recall 17V711: Incorrect tire and rim info on placard could lead to crash risk

NHTSA campaign 17V711, reported November 14, 2017, 58 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The certification placard on certain 2018 Prime Time Fury trailers may list the wrong tire and rim sizes. The placard states the trailer uses ST235/80R16E tires on 16x6.0JJ rims, but the trailer is actually equipped with ST225/75R15E tires on 15x6.0JJ rims. The trailer also does not fully meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 for tire selection and rims.

Because the placard shows the wrong tire and rim combination, an owner could install incorrect replacement tires. That mismatch could increase the risk of a crash.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install new, corrected Federal Placards free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025 and reference recall number 48-0575. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
