- Problem
- Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017-2018 XLR Toyhauler, Vengeance and Wolf Pack recreational trailers equipped with an optional generator. The generator's exhaust pipe is mounted too close to the trailer's plastic underbelly.
- Risk
- The generator's exhaust may melt the trailer's underbelly, increasing the risk of a fire.
- Remedy
- Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the routing of the exhaust pipe, lowering it away from the plastic underbelly, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on December 4, 2017. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 73-0535.

What this recall means for you
Certain trailers with an optional generator have the generator's exhaust pipe mounted too close to the plastic underbelly of the trailer. Over time, the heat from the exhaust can melt the underbelly.
A melted underbelly raises the risk of a fire. Owners should take this seriously and contact their dealer or Forest River as soon as possible.
The repair is free. Authorized dealers will inspect the routing of the exhaust pipe and lower it away from the plastic underbelly as needed. Forest River will also notify owners directly.
