Trail King Flatbed Trailer Recall 17V600: Trailer Brakes May Be Installed Wrong, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 17V600, reported September 26, 2017, 143 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain flatbed trailers from 2013 through 2018 may have had their axles installed incorrectly. This can reduce the braking ability of the electric brakes, so the brakes may not be able to be applied at full strength.

Reduced braking power increases the risk of a crash, especially when towing heavy loads or stopping quickly. Owners should take this recall seriously and not delay getting the trailer checked.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the orientation of the brakes and correct them if needed. You can also contact Trail King customer service at 1-800-843-3324, and check your trailer's VIN for any open recalls.
