Ford F-150 Recall 17V598: Missing Roof Rivets Can Weaken Rollover Protection

NHTSA campaign 17V598, reported September 25, 2017, 39 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2018 F-150 Raptor Super Cab trucks without a moonroof may be missing rivets where the structural roof braces attach to the roof rail. This can reduce the structural strength of the roof.

If the roof's structural integrity is reduced, there may be an increased risk of injury in the event of a rollover crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the repair completed promptly.

Ford will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install the missing rivets for the roof brace attachments free of charge. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford recall number 17S29), and can check their VIN for open recalls.
