Heartland Sundance XLT TT Recall 17V564: Trailer Axles Installed Backwards Can Cause Brake Failure

NHTSA campaign 17V564, reported September 13, 2017, 134 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2018 travel trailers have rear axles that were installed backwards at the factory. This may reduce braking ability or cause the brakes to temporarily lock up.

Because improper brake function can increase the risk of a crash, owners should stop using their trailer for towing until the axle installation has been checked. The repair is free: authorized dealers will correct the axle installation at no cost. You can also contact Heartland customer service at 1-574-206-7920 or [email protected], and check your VIN for open recalls.
