Kzrv Sport Trek Recall 17V556: Missing Awning Light Fuse Can Overheat Wiring and Cause Fire

NHTSA campaign 17V556, reported September 7, 2017, 2,382 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017-2018 recreational trailers may have been built without a 2 amp fuse in the circuit for the awning lights. Without that fuse, excessive electrical current can flow through the wire, causing it to overheat.

Overheated wiring increases the risk of a fire. Owners should watch for signs of electrical trouble with the awning lights and contact the manufacturer if their trailer is affected.

The repair is free. KZRV will notify owners, and dealers will install a 2 amp fuse assembly as needed at no charge. Contact KZRV customer service at 1-800-768-4016, extension 154 or 153, and check your VIN for open recalls.
