Chrysler Pacifica Recall 17V542: Rear Seat Belt May Unlatch in a Crash, Raising Injury Risk

NHTSA campaign 17V542, reported August 31, 2017, 47,927 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles with the 8-passenger seating option may have a problem with the second-row seat belts. In certain passenger seating arrangements, the buckle at the second-row center seat can cause the left outboard seat belt to become unlatched.

If the left outboard seat belt unlatches without you noticing, it may not restrain its occupant properly, which increases the risk of injury in a crash.

The remedy is free. Dealers will install a shorter second-row seat belt buckle at no charge. Owners will be notified by Chrysler, but you can also contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 (recall number T54) and check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
