Forest River XLR Recall 17V523: Tire placard may list wrong tire and rim sizes

NHTSA campaign 17V523, reported August 25, 2017, 34 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The tire and rim information on the Federal Placard in certain vehicles may be incorrect. The placard should list ST225/75R15/E tires inflated to 80 PSI on 16X6.0JJ rims, but it may not show this correctly. Because of this, an owner could install the wrong size replacement tires, which can increase the risk of a crash.

The manufacturer, Forest River, will notify owners and provide a corrected Federal Placard at no cost. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-0432 and reference recall number 45-0509.

Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls, and confirm the tire and rim specifications on your placard before replacing any tires.
