What this recall means for you
Some 2018 recreational trailers have a Federal certification placard that may list an incorrect weight for the trailer. Because the label is wrong, the person loading the trailer may not know its true weight and cargo capacity. Loading based on the incorrect figure can affect handling and increase the risk of a crash.
The manufacturer will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install a corrected Federal placard showing the correct weight and cargo carrying capacity. The repair is free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-4058 and reference recall number 63-07312017-0485.
If you own a 2018 trailer of this type, check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls, and do not rely on the existing placard for loading limits until the correction has been made.
