Utility VS2RA Recall 17V483: Mud Flap Bracket Weld May Fail, Creating Road Hazard

NHTSA campaign 17V483, reported August 1, 2017, 35 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A weld securing the mud flap bracket to the rear suspension beam on certain 2017 trailers may allow the bracket to detach. The bracket is the part that holds the mud flap in place.

If the mud flap detaches while the trailer is in use, it could fall into the road and become a hazard to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the weld for cracks and re-weld the bracket if needed. You can contact Utility Trailer customer service at 1-818-965-1541 to arrange this, and you should check your trailer's VIN for open recalls.
