- TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
- Problem
- Aston Martin the Americas (Aston Martin) is recalling certain 2017 DB11 vehicles. The affected vehicles have a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that may be incorrectly calibrated, resulting in the low tire pressure warning tell-tale not illuminating at the required minimum activation pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
- Risk
- If the driver is not warned that a tire is under-inflated, continued use may result in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

- Aston Martin will notify owners, and dealers will update the TPMS software, free of charge. The recall began July 18, 2017. Owners may contact Aston Martin customer service at 1-888-923-9988. Aston Martin's number for this recall is RA-13-0025.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
What this recall means for you
The tire pressure monitoring system on certain 2017 vehicles may be incorrectly calibrated. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light may not turn on when a tire reaches the minimum pressure it should trigger at, so the vehicle may not meet federal tire pressure monitoring requirements.
If the driver is not warned that a tire is under-inflated, continued driving can lead to tire failure, which raises the risk of a crash. Check your tire pressures regularly by hand, especially before long trips, and do not rely on the warning light alone.
The repair is free. Dealers will update the tire pressure monitoring system software at no charge. Owners will be notified, or can contact Aston Martin customer service at 1-888-923-9988 (recall number RA-13-0025). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
